Tottenham could be stung into action as AC Milan prepare to lodge a formal offer for Celtic striker Moussa Dembele, according to a report in the Express.

The newspaper claims that the Italian giants have emerged as rivals to Tottenham, Arsenal and Chelsea in the race to sign the highly-rated 20-year-old.

Dembele recently concluded a magnificent first season with Celtic where he struck 32 goals in all competitions, helping Brendan Rodgers side secure a domestic treble and remain unbeaten throughout the campaign.

Tottenham, Arsenal and Chelsea will now be on alert because the report details that Milan are set to make an official offer for the £40million-rated forward.

It is said that the London trio will have to join the bidding for Dembele or risk missing out on the Fulham academy product.

Dembele moved to Parkhead last summer after his contract at Craven Cottage expired, with Rodgers instantly snapping up the youngster on a free transfer.

Rodgers has been rewarded for that move because the Frenchman has played a huge part in the Northern Irishman lifting three trophies in his first season in charge.

Added with his goals on the domestic circuit, Dembele also found the back of the net on three occasions in the Champions League with his team getting knocked out of the group stages.

Dembele has three-years left on his contract at Celtic and Rodgers will be keen for his player to remain in Glasgow so he can now make strides in Europe’s biggest club competition.
