Liverpool have renewed their interest in Roma ace Mohamed Salah, according to a report.

The Daily Mail claim that the Reds are keen on singing the 24-year-old in the summer as manager Jurgen Klopp wants a pacy attacker that can bolster his forward options.

It is understood that the Merseyside club targeted the Egypt international back in 2014 under Brendan Rodgers, but lost out to Premier League rivals Chelsea at the time.

The report details that Liverpool are weighing up their options as they look to build a squad that can challenge both domestically and in Europe next season.

Salah has been in sensational form for Italian club Roma this season and has been tearing up the Serie A league.

The right winger has made 38 appearances across all competitions this campaign, scoring 17 goals and supplying 14 assists in return.

HeĀ endured a frustrating spell in England with Chelsea, but has managed to recapture his best form in Italy.

Liverpool may feel that Salah fits perfectly into the system at Anfield as Klopp likes to deploy interchangeable attackers.

The German manager has preferred a trio of Sadio Mane, Philippe Coutinho and Roberto Firmino in attack, but injuries have meant the likes of Daniel Sturridge and Divock Origi have filled in.

Liverpool look set to qualify for the Champions League this season and have their destiny in their own hands going into the final two league games, which will surely be a huge pull when it comes to signing players.

Salah may feel that he has a point to prove in English football and Liverpool may be prepared to offer him a return.
