Premier League club West Brom are clear favourites to sign Leeds defender Charlie Taylor, according to the latest betting odds.

Leading bookmaker Sky Bet have priced 23-year-old Taylor at 1/3 to make a switch to the Hawthorns before September 3.

Left-back Taylor has a contract at Elland Road which runs until the end of June and it is now almost certain that he will leave the club.

Recently-departed Leeds boss Garry Monk revealed after the club’s final Championship match of the season against Wigan that Taylor refused to play.

That massive revelation by Monk only added fuel to the fire that Taylor will be leaving Yorkshire when his contract officially expires.

Liverpool, who recently secured Champions League football, are priced at 7/2 to land Taylor’s signature, with Newcastle (8-1) and Southampton (14-1) also in the running.

The bookmakers are offering odds of 16/1 that Taylor will stay at Leeds, which perhaps gives further indication that he will be heading for the exit door.

York-born Taylor missed up to three months of action this term because of an Achilles injury and was a regular member of the side prior to that long-term injury.

When he returned to action in March, he only stated four more league games for Monk, who resigned from his managerial post on Thursday.

Over the course of the season, Taylor played 32 matches in all competitions for Leeds, including 29 appearances in the Championship.
