Ex-Arsenal forward Lukas Podolski has taken to Twitter to mock Tottenham following their farewell game at White Hart Lane on Sunday.

Spurs recorded a 2-1 victory over Manchester United in the Premier League during their final ever match at their prestigious ground.

The north London club will make the temporary switch to Wembley Stadium next year before they move into their new 61,000-seater ground, which is situated right next door to White Hart Lane.

Former Gunners ace Podolski couldn’t resist take a swipe at north London rivals Spurs on social media and reminded them of Arsenal’s success at White Hart Lane in the past.

“Thanks White Hart Lane for that great memories,” Podolski wrote on his personal Twitter account.

Arsenal famously won a Premier League title at White Hart Lane after a 2-2 draw and that sparked wild celebrations with away fans.

Ex-Germany international Podolski is well liked after his time at the Emirates Stadium, where he scored 31 goals in 82 appearances.

He did manage one strike in a north London derby back in 2012 when Arsenal managed to record a comprehensive 5-2 home win in the Premier League.

However, Spurs have managed to get the upper hand over their bitter rivals and have finished above them in the Premier League table.

Mauricio Pochettinos’s side have secured a second-placed finish in the division and pushed champions Chelsea to the closing weeks in the title race.

They have managed to establish themselves at the top-end of English football in recent seasons and chairman Daniel Levy is hoping a ground move will only help them grow.
