Liverpool have jumped to the front of the queue to sign Porto goalkeeper Iker Casillas, according to a report.

Spanish outlet AS claim that the Reds may have already sorted a pre-contract agreement for the 36-year-old and that he is set to move on in the summer.

It is understood that the Merseyside club face competition from clubs from China, Turkey and Qatar for his signature.

However, the report details that the experienced shot stopper is open to a Premier League switch and is determined to leave Porguguese giants.

Casillas is recognised as one of the best goalkeepers in recent decades and has been a serial winner.

The Spain international won the World Cup in 2010 and has a staggering 167 international caps for his country.

Meanwhile, he has had a very successful club career and spent most of it with Spanish giants Real Madrid after graduating through their academy.

He picked up three Champions Leagues and five league titles during his time at the Bernabeu and completed a move to Porto in 2015.

The veteran goalkeeper is now reaching the back-end of his career, but still made 43 appearances for Porto this season and was their number one.

Casillas proved himself in Champions League’s and is showing no signs of slowing down despite his age.

Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp has alternated between goalkeeping options Simon Mignolet and Loris Karius this season, but it appears neither of them are certainties to be the first-choice at Anfield next season.
