Ronaldo Vieira has been included in the England squad for the summer’s Toulon Tournament – and Leeds fans have taken to Twitter to congratulate their midfielder and rave about his qualities.

The 18-year-old has earned his first call-up for England after his performances at Elland Road this season, as cited by the FA’s official website.

The Three Lions have selected an 18-man squad for the tournament from a mixture of age levels, with players from the Under-18s, Under-19s and Under-20s all involved.

Vieira is available to play for England despite being born in Guinea-Bissau, while also being eligible for Portugal’s national side.

The central midfielder has enjoyed a breakout season in club football this year and been an important first team member for Leeds.

The Whites fans have hailed the talents of their academy graduate and feel he can be a future captain of the club.

Here is a selection of their messages on Twitter:

Leeds have introduced several young players to their senior set-up recently and Vieira is the latest star to emerge.

The box-to-box midfielder has looked solid in the Championship and been an important player under Garry Monk.

He made 38 appearances across all competitions during the season and was a frequent starter, while fellow academy product Kalvin Phillips has also made the breakthrough alongside him.

Vieira was awarded with the club’s young player of the year award at the end of the season and is being tipped to have a great future.
