Everton manager Ronald Koeman has stated that he wants players with “more productivity” as he begins to plan for the summer transfer window.

The Toffees finished the season seventh in the Premier League table and it was a decent return during Koeman’s first season at Goodison Park.

They will be looking to build on their work next season and it’s unclear whether heavily-linked pair Romelu Lukaku and Ross Barkley will still be at the club.

The Merseyside club have relied on the senior pair a lot this season in front of goal and they will be looking to bolster their options.

Koeman has revealed that bringing more creative players over the summer is his aim and that he is confident he will have a strong outfit in the next campaign.

“A clear objective will be to bring in players who will have more productivity,” Koeman said, as quoted by the club’s official website. “I expect that we can change that for next season.

“If we can do the business we want to do this summer, the team for next season will be really strong, I believe.”

Everton get a lot of their goals from defensive contributions, with the likes of Seamus Coleman, Phil Jagielka, Ashley Williams and Leighton Baines a threat going forward.

Meanwhile, Koeman feels they lack in the attacking areas and wants to add to Lukaku, Barkley, Kevin Mirallas, Ademola Lookman, Dominic Calvert-Lewin and Yannick Bolasie.

Everton are looking to break into the top-six of the Premier League, but the financial backing and quality of their sides means it’s going to be a difficult task.

However, they were the closest competitors this season and Koeman believes they can challenge again with some extra attacking recruitments.
