Tottenham are set to battle for the signature of Leicester playmaker Riyad Mahrez in the summer, according to a report.

The Daily Telegraph claim that Spurs and Arsenal are among the clubs that will become interested in the 26-year-old after it emerged that he expects to leave the King Power Stadium in the summer.

It is understood that attacking midfielder expects Leicester to uphold an agreement made between him and ex-manager Claudio Ranieri last summer, which would see him made available for a big-money transfer in this upcoming window.

The report details that Mahrez is keen on a move which will enable him to continue fighting for trophies and would ideally like to stay in England.

The Telegraph report that Spurs and Arsenal are both likely to renew interest in the Algeria international as they search for a wide play, but Leicester value him at more than £30million.

Meanwhile, Chelsea, Barcelona and Marseille could become interested in his signature.

Mahrez is well recognised as one of the most skilful players in the Premier League and quite often mesmerizes defences with his stepovers and trickery.

The right winger guided the Foxes to the league title last season and also picked up the PFA Player of the Year award.

He was convinced to stay for another season and helped Leicester reach the Champions League quarter-finals, before they were eventually knocked out by Atletico Madrid.

Mahrez watched his former teammate N’Golo Kante get his big-money move last summer and he has gone on to achieve great things at Chelsea.

The wide man is pursuing a similar kind of move, but he has been unable to reach the dizzy heights of last season in the current term.

He has managed 10 goals and supplied seven assists so far in this campaign, compared to 18 goals and 10 assists in the previous year.

However, Spurs are believed to be chasing a goal threat for their wide positions and may think Mahrez is the perfect fit.
