Leeds’ co-owner Massimo Cellino is close to completing a mega-money takeover for Italian club Brescia worth a total of £10.5million, according to a report in Italy.

Business outlet Calcio Finanza claim that he will look to buy a stake in the Serie B club once he has completely sold his shares in Leeds.

It is understood that Andrea Radrizzani is set to compete a full takeover at Elland Road and bring an end to Cellino’s three-year stay with the Yorkshire giants.

The report details that Cellino may have to pay £4.2million to buy a majority stake in Brescia, while there is also an additional £6.3million worth of debts.

It is believed he is willing to take on the debts to secure a 60 per cent stake in the Italian side as he returns to his homeland, where he previously owned Serie A side Cagliari.

Calcio Finanza claim that the deal could pick up speed when the league season closes on 21 May and could be completed fully by the end of June.

Leeds fans may be glad to see the back of Cellino when he leaves Elland Road and will be looking for some stability under the ownership of Radrizzani.

The Sun report that Radrizzani will hand current manager Garry Monk a new five-year deal as he feels he can be the man to return the club to the Premier League.

Meanwhile, Cellino was not known for being so patient with managers and got rid of six since his arrival in 2014.

Steve Evans, Brian McDermott, Dave Hockaday, Darko Milanic, Neil Redfearn and Uwe Rosler all received the axe from the controversial owner.
