Inter Milan are flying into London this week to hold talks with Tottenham about their manager Mauricio Pochettino, according to a report.

Sky Sports Italy claim that Milan’s sporting director Piero Ausilio is jetting in to discuss a proposed move for Spurs’ highly rated boss.

The report details that the Serie A club can buy the 45-year-old out of his current contract with a £4.2million deal and are prepared to offer him a new mega £8.5million-a-years salary.

Pochettino recently refused to speak about speculation linking him with Inter as he preferred to focus on the north London club.

The Italian side are searching for a new full-time manager after sacking Stefano Pioli, with Chelsea’s Antonio Conte and Atletico Madrid’s Diego Simeone also approached.

Pochettino has become a popular figure at Spurs following his arrival in 2014 and has built a formidable squad.

The Argentinian has a strong English core at the heart of his side and they have secured a second-placed finish in the Premier League, despite pushing Chelsea in the title race.

He is still waiting for his first piece of silverware during his fairly short managerial career, but there is a real belief he has a capable squad at his disposal.

Pochettino spent three years with Spanish club Espanyol at the beginning of his managerial path and one season with Southampton, before Spurs managed to prise him away.

His teams are recognised for their high intensity style but there solidity in defence, something that his Spurs side show in abundance.
