Fulham manager Slavisa Jokanovic believes that his side can keep hold of teenager sensation Ryan Sessegnon next season if they achieve success in the Championship play-offs.

The Sun reported in April that Liverpool are interested in signing the 16-year-old defender and are confident in securing his services.

The report explained that fellow Premier League duo Tottenham and Everton have also been tracking the youngster, but Reds manager Jurgen Klopp feels his side can win the race for the £10million-rated star.

However, Fulham boss Jokanovic claims that his team will fight to keep Sessegnon and feels they have a great chance of keeping him if they are in the top flight next season.

The Cottagers face Reading in the semi-finals of the play-offs and will hope to be involved in the final at Wembley on 29 May.

“If we get promoted, it’s the best way to keep him,” Jokanovic said, as quoted by Sky Sports. “I’ve talked many times about him and personally I believe he is in the right place, he doesn’t need to change in this moment.

“It will depend on different sides. For myself, I think we will fight to be working with him next season. Ryan Sessegnon is fully committed with us and is working hard.”

Sessegnon is emerging as one of England’s most exciting talents and the 16-year-old is already performing well beyond his years.

The full-back has become a key player in Fulham’s first team this season and has made 29 senior appearances.

He has shown a particular strength for going forward and has been used as a left winger recently.

Sessegnon has managed seven goals and supplied five assists, which helped him to be included in the PFA Championship team of the season.

Liverpool are set to enter the market for a left-back in the summer as Klopp has used versatile ace James Milner in that position for most of the season.

Sessegnon has been touted as a future star and the England Under-19 international would add to the emerging talent at Anfield.
