Paul Lambert is the second favourite to become the next manager of Championship outfit Hull, according to the latest betting odds.

The club confirmed on their official Twitter account on Tuesday that the 47-year-old has agreed to part company with the Midlands outfit after just seven months in charge.

Now, leading bookmaker Sky Bet have priced the Scotsman at 5/1 to become the next manager of the recently relegated Yorkshire side, with Nigel Adkins currently the favourite at odds of 4/1.

Hull were relegated to the second tier of English football on the penultimate week of the Premier League season, with Marco Silva failing to secure their status in the top tier.

The former Sporting Lisbon coach has since left his role at the KCOM Stadium joining Watford who parted company with Walter Mazzarri at the end of the season.

Nonetheless, Lambert replaced Walter Zenga at Molineux in November, guiding his team to 14 wins from their 33 matches in all competitions.

Lambert’s most memorable victory came against Premier League side Liverpool when his team secured a 2-1 win at Anfield to knock Jurgen Klopp’s team out of the FA Cup.

Wolves finished off the campaign in 15th position, recording 58 points from their 46 matches and finishing seven points above the drop zone.

It now remains to be seen who will replace Lambert at Wolves, with the possibility that he can come up against his former side next season if he takes another job in the second tier during the summer.
