Charlie Adam feels that Norwich attacker Steven Naismith would be a good signing for Rangers in the summer.

The Express claim that the 30-year-old would be keen on a move to Ibrox despite still have two years left on his deal at Carrow Road.

The report details that the Scotland international is keen to link up with manager Pedro Caixinha at Rangers, who is expected to undergo a major reshuffle of his squad in the summer.

Naismith would be open to re-joining the Gers following his departure in 2012 when the club went into administration.

Ex-Rangers midfielder Adam believes that his former side should consider a move for Naismith to improve their squad, but recognises that Caixinha has a lot of work to do.

“Let’s be honest, they need to improve on the players they have got and he [Naismith] would be one who would improve them,” Adam said, as quoted by the Herald. “But I think they need more than him. It will be interesting to see how many they get in. That comes to down to finance as well.”

Naismith enjoyed a successful spell at Rangers earlier in his career and could now return to help them try close the gap to Old Firm rivals Celtic, who eased to the league title this season.

The forward made 132 appearances for the Light Blues, scoring 33 goals and supplying 30 assists in return.

The Gers have struggled for consistency in front of goal this campaign and veteran forward Kenny Miller is their top scorer across all competitions with 10 goals.

Adam claims that Caixinha should consider making a move for the experienced Naismith, but knows there is a lot more to do on a side that are 36 points adrift of champions Celtic.
