West Brom are ready to make a move to bring Troy Deeney back to the Midlands.

According to a report in The Sun, Tony Pulis is keen to snap up the Watford striker to bring greater presence to his strike force.

Deeney signed a new long term contract with Watford at the start of the season but has recently fallen out of favour with Walter Mazzarri and could be tempted to move on.

The striker is in his seventh season at Watford scoring for various managers but is believed to be deeply unhappy about his current treatment.

Pulis is desperate for extra firepower with Salomon Rondon his top Premier League scorer on seven for the season. Veteran defender Gareth McAuley is second top scorer with six.

Deeney has scored 10 Premier League goals in 28 starting appearances with those sort of stats appealing to the West Brom boss.

The future of Mazzarri is the topic of speculation but if a bid of over £20m comes in for Deeney Watford may decide to cash in on the 28-year old that they signed from Halesowen for just £500,000.
