Vito Mannone is a transfer target for Watford.

According to a report on talkSPORT the Sunderland keeper could be on his way to Vicarage Road at the end of the season.

With Jordan Pickford also expected to leave Sunderland look certain to start next season with a new keeper in place.

Mannone has found his opportunities limited by the form of Pickford but has done enough to interest Watford as well as a couple of clubs from Italy.

With one year left on his contract Sunderland will be happy to reduce their wage bill and bring in a new keeper on Championship wages with relegation almost confirmed.

Mannone has got vast experience of playing in the Premier League at Arsenal and Sunderland, at 29 years old he can go straight in to play first team football and also act as a reliable back-up.

Sunderland paid £1.5m for the keeper from Arsenal in 2013 but are likely to accept a token fee in the summer as he enters the final year of his contract.
