Manchester City face strong competition for the signing of Ferland Mendy.

According to a report in the Daily Mail the Le Havre defender is also being watched by Chelsea and Manchester United.

Interest in Mendy has increased after it was revealed that Arsenal had won the race to sign Sead Kolasinac from Schalke on an end of season Bosman.

Chelsea had a bid rejected for Kolasinac last summer rejected last summer and are keen to bring in wing-backs to suit Antonio Conte’s style of play.

The need for new full-backs is even more acute at Manchester City where Pep Guardiola is planning massive changes across his defence.

Mendy is rated at £10m despite playing for Le Havre in the French second division and is certain to be on the move at the end of the season.

City have looked at a number of full backs this season with Guardiola placing a strong emphasis on their ability to build up attacks.
