Arsenal want Yacine Brahimi as part of their new look strike force.

According to a report in The Sun, the Porto striker could cost upto £50m as Arsenal attempt to fill the void left in their side by the almost certain sale of Alexis Sanchez.

Brahimi can play in any of the striking roles with Arsenal scouts making direct comparisons with Sanchez’s style of play.

Arsenal have been resigned to losing Sanchez since before Christmas with the club unwilling to match his cash demands or meet his playing ambitions.

A number of striking options have been considered but with the club unlikely to be in next season’s Champions League a move for one of the real top names can be discounted.

AC Milan and Inter have both been linked with Brahimi but even with fresh investment they won’t be able to compete with the terms that Arsenal can offer to the Algerian internationalist.
