Whether the Boro stays up or not the defender seems certain to move on with his uncle Steve, basically Boro’s owner expecting to pick up a cheque for £30m.
Gibson signed a contract at the start of the season trough until the end of the 2021 season but will be pushing for an England place from towards the top of the table next season.
The defender has started all 28 of Boro’s Premier League matches this season.
