Andy Carroll will get the chance to impress Gareth Southgate when the England boss attends Saturday’s match between West Ham and West Brom.

According to a report in the Daily Mail, Southgate is keen to assess the six goal striker and also cast an eye over the form of Michail Antonio who attracted interest from Chelsea during the January transfer window.

Carroll has only won nine caps but is widely regarded as one of the finest strikers in the Premier League- on his day.

Injuries have dogged his progress and hampered his international prospects but after two months relatively trouble free he seems to be getting close to top form.

Southgate is keen to get further striking options in his squad with Carroll’s raw physical power a rarity in the modern game.

England have a friendly with Germany and World Cup qualifier against Lithuania next month with a fully fit Carroll almost certain to be named in the squads.
