TEN Premier League clubs had scouts at the Nottingham Forest v Stoke City Youth Cup tie with Ben Brereton the target.

According to a report in the Nottingham Post Arsenal, Chelsea, Everton, Manchester City, Manchester United, Tottenham, Middlesbrough, Sunderland, Southampton and Leicester City were at the match as well as, obviously Stoke City.

Although Forest lost 4-1 to Stoke, Brereton impressed the watching scouts plus England Under-18 head coach Neil Dewsnip and head of talent identification Richard Allen who were also watching from the stand.

Forest will have their work cut out to keep hold of the 17-year-old but can offer Brereton a shorter route into first team football.

Fifteen goals in the u-23 league has brought Brereton to the attention of the Premier League sides with Arsenal represented by Brian McDermott at Tuesday night’s match.

Brereton recently signed a new contract with Forest but that deal has still to be verified by the FA.
