The shadow of Paris St Germain is hanging over Arsenal’s contract talks with Alexis Sanchez.
According to a report in the Daily Mail the French champions are waiting in the wings with the combination that the striker is looking for- a massive pay hike and the chance to win trophies.
With less than 18 months to go on his contract there seems to be little sign of progress as the Gunners try to get Sanchez to extend his contract.
Doubling the strikers salary to over £250,000/week is half of the problem, a faltering league campaign and Champions League clash with Bayern Munich is even harder to resolve.
PSG lost out to Arsenal in their Champions League group but are ready to give Sanchez the deal that he requires to hop across the Channel.
Arsene Wenger has said that he’d rather allow the contract to be run down than sell to Chelsea or Manchester City- a £40m offer from PSG in the summer could prove an acceptable alternative for all parties.
