Conte keen on West Ham’s Antonio

|

Chelsea are set to shock West Ham by moving in for Michail Antonio.

According to a report in The Mirror Antonio Conte sees the 26-year-old as the ideal candidate to play at right wing-back in his 3-5-2 system.

Antonio joined West Ham in a £7m transfer from Nottingham Forest during the 2015 summer transfer window and was rewarded with a new improved deal last year that ties him to the club until 2020.

The former Forest and Sheffield Wednesday man was outstanding in West Ham’s 2-1 win over Chelsea in the EFL Cup in October.

Conte has kept tabs on Antonio since then and received glowing reports about the eight goal midfielder.

West Ham would be looking for £30m to part with Antonio but may consider a swap deal if Chelsea are willing to throw in a loan deal to the package with everything at the London Stadium geared towards staying up this season.
