Sevilla are hoping to offer Anthony Marial a route to La Liga by taking the Frenchman on loan for the rest of the season.

According to a report in the Daily Star the Spanish side believe that the former Monaco winger can help them secure a Champions League place for next season or even to snatch the title. Seville are currently in third place in the table with Sami Nasri on loan from Manchester City.

Jose Mourinho is reluctant to allow players to go out on loan but Martial’s complex transfer from Monaco includes a number of bonus payments beyond the original £36m paid to the French side.

Martial has only started seven Premier League matches this season which is in stark contrast to the blistering start he enjoyed last season under Louis van Gaal.

Like most of van Gaal’s signings the 21-year-old has struggled to impress Mourinho and could be sold to help fund the signings that the former Chelsea manager has lined up.
