Liverpool and Juventus battle for Dahoud

|

Liverpool face competition from Juventus for the signing of Mahmoud Dahoud from Borussia Monchengladbach.

The Mirror has picked up on a report in Tuttosport which claims that the midfielder is stalling on signing a new deal with the German side. With 18 months left on his current deal Gladbach will reluctantly listen to offers in the summer if he won’t commit to a new contract.

The situation with Dahoud mirrors the position of Franck Kessie with Liverpool and Juve both linked with the Atalanta midfielder.

Dahoud made a big impression in the Champions League matches against Barcelona and Manchester City.

With Monchengladbach sitting in 14th place in the Bundesliga it’s unlikely that the 20-year-old will get a third season of Champions League football by signing a new deal with the German side.

Working with Jurgen Klopp would be a big attraction in moving to Liverpool with the Anfield boss keen to build a base of younger emerging players that he can develop rather than getting involved in bidding wars for more established players.
