John Terry will be offered a staggering £8m basix salary to join the exodus of players leaving Chelsea for China.
According to a report in The Independent the Stamford Bridge legend will get given the chance to sign for Shanghai Shenhua who are managed by Gus Poyet.
Terry has been told that he won’t be offered another deal at the end of the season and could quit Chelsea next month if he agrees on the deal with Shenhua.
Carlos Tevez is close to agreeing a deal to go to the same club who have strong links with Chelsea having previously signed Nicolas Anelka, Demba Ba and Didier Drogba.
Terry had an offer to join Guangzhou Evergrande last season but elected to stay on at Chelsea and work with Antonio Conte.
With the new regime well in place at Stamford Bridge the former England skipper is likely to accept one final pay day in China before returning to the UK to begin his coaching career.
