In many ways, Claude Puel’s spell in charge on the south coast has been a mixed bag so far with Southampton through to the last eight of the EFL Cup and in charge of their own destiny in the Europa League.
A club that always strives to continue pushing however, Southampton fans will want to finish to try and emulate their fantastic sixth-placed Premier League finish last season.
In order to try and match that fantastic achievement this term, Saints may need to sign a few fresh new faces in January to give the squad a second wind in the latter half of the campaign.
