Leicester City are through to the last 16 of the Champions League as winners of Group G.

Claudio Ranieri’s side beat Club Brugge 2-1 at home tonight to go five points clear of Porto in Group G.

By finishing on top of their group Leicester will be seeded in the draw for the last 16 and will meet a runner up from one of the other seven groups.

Despite their domestic form suffering a nosedive Ranieri’s side have maintained the form of last season to make their first ever Champions League campaign a memorable one.

First half goals from Shinji Okazaki and Riyas Mahrez appeared to put Leicester in easy street but a wonder goal from Jose Izquierdo made the home fans nervous as they saw their team through to the final whistle.

Leicester can now go into their final match away to Porto keeping an eye on results elsewhere as they await the knock out draw which takes place on December 12.
