He was linked with a January transfer window switch to Liverpool earlier this week but Geoffrey Kondogbia’s agent has poured cold water on the links, report The Mirror.

Failing to feature in three of Inter Milan’s past five league fixtures in Serie A, speculation was mounting that the French international could be looking for an escape route in three months’ time.

Speaking to TuttoMercatoWeb, Kondogbia’s agent Jonathan Maarek claimed: “Despite the current situation, Geoffrey is relaxed. There are no problems and he is happy at Inter.”

In truth, Jurgen Klopp needn’t be prioritising a swoop for another midfielder right now with a central combination of Jordan Henderson, Georginio Wijnaldum and Adam Lallana having impressed so far this term.

With the likes of the impressive Emre Can struggling for regular opportunities right now, it’s difficult to see where Kondogbia might’ve fitted in anyway.

However, if Kondogbia’s lack of game time continues through until January, Liverpool are certainly not alone in admiring his talents according to Maarek.

“Kondogbia is certainly a top level player. He has a lot of quality and is very young, so obviously he has a lot of clubs interested in him,” continued Kondogbia’s agent.

“Can I name them? I will just say that he is not lacking interested clubs.”
