Linked with a swoop for Paris Saint-Germain’s Thiago Silva yesterday, the agent of the Brazilian international hasn’t ruled out a transfer to Chelsea, report SportWitness.

The centre back is still waiting for the French champions to negotiate a new deal but Chelsea are reportedly putting the pressure on ahead of a potential reunion with David Luiz.

Speaking to SportWitness, Thiago Silva’s agent Paulo Tonietto claimed: “Chelsea are a big club. And the English league is the best in the world.”

The vastly experienced former AC Milan defender’s current deal at the Parc Des Princes runs out in 2017 and with Unai Emery’s side enduring an uncharacteristic slower start to the Ligue 1 campaign, Tonietto realises that Champions League football is imperative for his client.

“We’re not negotiating a new contract, let’s see what happens before December,” continued Tonietto.

“Thiago’s deal ends on June 30th 2017 if PSG don’t qualify for the Champions League. Everything is possible in football.”

It remains to be seen whether Chelsea will attempt an ambitious swoop for Thiago Silva in January but you’d imagine that any possible deal would take place in the summer transfer window.
