Branislav Ivanovic’s best days are now behind him
Eyebrows were raised among Chelsea’s fanbase when Antonio Conte failed to sign a new right back to challenge Branislav Ivanovic in the summer.
Despite being a tremendous servant to the Blues down the years, the Serb came in for his fair share of stick last season during Chelsea’s forgettable 2015/16 campaign.
So far this season, Ivanovic has looked a yard off the pace once more, often being caught out such as the game at Arsenal whereby young Alex Iwobi had the beating of the Blues right back.
Dropped for Marcos Alonso who came in at left back at Hull City while Cesar Azpilicueta reverted to right back, Ivanovic’s poor form is clearly a concern for Antonio Conte right now.
