They haven’t played their best with points on the board
How many times in football do we hear the cliche that it is the hallmark of champions to achieve victories when not playing your best football.
In man ways, we are yet to really see the best of Arsenal in their six games so far this season although there were signs that Arsene Wenger’s men were reachin their optimum level at Hull City on Saturday.
The 2-1 victory over Southampton prior to the very lucky Paris Saint-Germain draw was achieved only by the skin of Arsenal’s teeth but if that were Pep Guardiola’s Manchester City, everybody would be overstating that the last gasp win was the stuff of title winning teams.
Performances are key at any point in the season but with everybody just looking to get points on the board right now, it’s encouraging that Arsenal have been able to do this while not playing their best football with plenty more to come.
