Six games into the new 2016/17 campaign and many Arsenal supporters are a lot more content with life right now compared to the shocking start they made against Liverpool.

There was a sea of discontent around Emirates Stadium that day, not only due to the 3-4 loss but also due to the fact that Arsenal were yet to fully strengthen the team.

But ever since, the signings of Shkodran Mustafi and Lucas Perez have been made while a spell of three consecutive victories in the Premier League have catapulted the Gunners back into familiar territory following their slow start.

While there is a hell of a long way to go of course, Arsene Wenger’s side can feel buoyed from the way in which they’ve reacted since shipping four goals to Liverpool on the opening day and Gooners will be hoping they can continue on an upward curve.

In EFL Cup action at Nottingham Forest this week ahead of a big London Derby against Chelsea at Emirates Stadium on Saturday, the games are coming thick and fast but this Arsenal squad is that much more mature than Wenger’s squads of old.
