Luis Suarez

According to reports from The Express, Manchester City will look to bring former Liverpool striker Luis Suarez back to the Premier League during the summer transfer window.

The Uruguay international bagged 88 goals in 132 appearances during his three-and-a-half seasons at Liverpool, almost firing them to the Premier League title during the 2013/14 campaign, before sealing a £65million transfer to Barcelona the subsequent summer.

Since moving to the Nou Camp, Suarez has affirmed his reputation as one of the best in the business, striking a partnership with Lionel Messi and Neymar that secured a La Liga, Copa del Rey and Champions League treble during his debut season with the Catalans.

But according to The Express, incoming Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola is convinced he can persuade the 29-year-old to return to the Premier League during the coming transfer window.

Suarez is represented by Guardiola’s brother, Pere, and the former Barcelona boss will use that personal connection to try and bring the striker to the Etihad this summer. Barcelona are due to pay Liverpool another £13million installment in July, but want City to pay it as part of a potential transfer deal for the South American assassin.
