According to The Guardian, West Ham are ready to target Manchester City striker Wilfried Bony; whilst The Sun claim Chelsea want to recall Andreas Christensen from his loan spell at Borussia Monchengladbach.

The Hammers’ priority strike target remains Marseille frontman Michy Batshuayi, who has netted 17 times across all competitions this season. But if they miss out on the Belgium international during the summer transfer window, the East London club will reportedly turn their attentions to Manchester City’s Wilfried Bony.

The Ivory Coast striker has struggled to make his mark at the Etihad since sealing transfer from Swansea City during the 2015 January transfer window, going on to bag just ten goals in 14 months, but bordered upon prolific during his time in South Wales with 25 strikes in his first 52 Premier League outings.

Liverpool’s Christian Benteke and Lyon’s Alexandre Lacazette are also on the Hammers’ transfer hitlist. But wages could prove to be the decisive factor, with Slaven Bilic’s side unlikely to match the £100k per week plus bonuses package Bony currently receives at City.

Meanwhile, The Sun claim Chelsea are keen to end Andreas Christensen’s two-season loan spell at Borussia Monchengladbach during the summer transfer window – twelve months ahead of schedule – following his impressive form for the Bundesliga outfit.

The 19-year-old has become a regular in the Gladbach backline this season, averaging 1.3 tackles, 2.5 interceptions, 3.7 clearances and 2.6 successful aerial duels per match from his 24 league outings, and was mooted as a shock transfer target for European champions Barcelona earlier this month.

However, Gladbach are loathed to lose the Danish international when they’re entitled to his services for another year and Christensen is also keen to stay put, amid assurances of regular first-team football at Borussia-Park. According to The Sun, Chelsea are hoping the offer of Nathan Ake in exchange, completing the remainder of Christensen’s loan spell, will see all three parties agree to an early return to west London.
