Mandzukic

According to Calcio Mercato, Tottenham Hotspur are targeting Juventus striker Mario Mandzukic; whilst The Daily Star report that Manchester United face Borussia Dortmund in the race to sign Werder Bremen youngster Johannes Eggestein.

The 29-year-old is one of the most established strikers in Europe, providing a consistent supply of goals throughout his spells in with Dynamo Zagreb, Wolfsburg, Bayern Munich, Atletico Madrid and now the Old Lady.

Juventus are reportedly more than content with the Croatian international’s form since arriving in Turin last summer, going on to grab nine goals in 23 appearances across all competitions despite injury problems, but set to turn 29 before next season, they would be open to selling for around £18million during the coming transfer window.

Calcio Mercato claim a return to the Allianz Arena, where the 6 foot 3 striker lifted the 2013 Champions League title, could be on the cards following Pep Guardiola’s move to Manchester City. But they also suggest Tottenham Hotspur will revive their interest in Mandzukic, who they’ve allegedly been chasing for the last two years.

Meanwhile, The Daily Star – who cite reports from German publication Weser Kurier – claim Manchester United face Borussia Dortmund in the race to sign Werder Bremen prodigy Johannes Eggestein, who boasts an incredible record of 69 goals in 71 appearances at youth level.

That includes 22 goals for Bremen’s U19 side this season. The Red Devils have been monitoring the Germany U18 for the last few months and are now poised to swoop during the summer, when Eggestein’s contract at Weserstadion will have expired, but face competition from the Black-Yellows.
