Freddie Woodman

According to reports from The Express, Arsenal, Liverpool and Tottenham Hotspur are all targeting Newcastle goalkeeper Freddie Woodman.

The 18-year-old is yet to register a senior outing for the Magpies but has represented England 31 times at youth level and impressed on loan at Crawley earlier this season, keeping four clean sheets in eleven appearances before being recalled to St. James’ Park in October.

The teenage shot-stopper was mooted as a potential summer target for Liverpool some time ago, with the Reds seemingly looking to bolster their goalkeeping options. But according to The Express, who cite reports from ClubCall, north London rivals Arsenal and Tottenham Hotspur are also keen on acquiring Woodman’s services.

That’s in no small part due to the England U19’s Newcastle contract expiring at the end of the season. Woodman will be allowed to discuss terms with other clubs during the summer transfer window but due to his age, potential suitors will have to pay a compensation fee.
