According to Calcio Mercato, Tottenham Hotspur are in transfer talks with Fiorentina over the potential transfer of Milan Badelj; whilst Gianluca Di Marzio reports that Chelsea are targeting Bayern Munich midfielder Arturo Vidal.

The Lilywhites drew with Fiorentina in the Europa League last week and reportedly used the match as a chance to make an official approach for the Croatian international.

Manager Paulo Sousa will be loathed to lose the midfielder, who is deemed a vital cog his starting Xi, but Badelj’s agent is pushing for a move as Fiorentina have failed to pay him commission for the player’s summer 2014 transfer from Hamburg.

Regardless, it’s claimed the 26-year-old is keen for a move to White Hart Lane, having been targeted by Spurs back in summer 2012, and would likely set the north London club back around €7million.

Meanwhile, Italian journalist Gianluca Di Marzio has claimed on his official website that Chelsea are monitoring Bayern Munich midfielder Arturo Vidal, after technical director Michael Emenalo was spotted at the Allianz Arena during the Bavarians’ 2-2 draw with Juventus yesterday evening.

The west London outfit’s interest in the industrious box-to-box is in no small part due to the potential arrival of manager Antonio Conte. The 46-year-old signed the Chile international for Juventus in summer 2011 and they won three Serie A titles together with the Old Lady, before departing in 2014 and 2015 respectively.

But having moved to Bayern on a four-year contract at the start of the season, the Bundesliga giants will be under no obligation to sell during the summer transfer window.
