According to The Metro, Schalke defender Joel Matip has agreed a pre-contract with Liverpool; whilst The Daily Star report that Manchester United missed out on signing Livingston striker Matthew Knox on transfer deadline day.
The Cameroon centre-back has been in superb form this season, averaging 1.5 tackles, 3.3 interceptions, 4.8 clearances and 3.5 successful aerial duels per match, and was linked with an Anfield move during the January transfer window.
But it appears the Reds are prepared to wait until the end of the season to sign the 24-year-old on a free transfer, with The Metro – who cite Italian publication Corriere Dello Sport – claiming they’ve now agreed pre-contract terms.

Meanwhile, The Daily Star report that Manchester United missed out on signing Livingston striker Matthew Knox on deadline day as claimed by the youngster’s father.
The 16-year-old was on trial at Old Trafford last month and United were keen to sign him permanently, but it appears Livingston are intent on retaining his services for a little while longer.
As quoted by The Daily Star, Michael Knox senior said; “Man United came back in for him yesterday (Monday) and there was interest from QPR but Livi are holding on to him. It’s a good felling knowing that these clubs want him.”
The teenage forward has also had trials with Chelsea and Liverpool.
