According to reports from The Daily Star, Manchester United have turned to former Chelsea manager Jose Mourinho following the announcement that Pep Guardiola will take over at Manchester City next season.
The Citizens confirmed yesterday that Manuel Pellegrini will step down from the Etihad hot seat in the summer to make way for Guardiola, who is currently in charge at Bayern Munich.

According to The Daily Star, that has ‘forced the hand’ of United chief executive Ed Woodward, who now intends to sack under-fire gaffer Louis van Gaal at the end of the season and replace him with Jose Mourinho.
