Luis Suarez

According to reports from The Daily Mail, Barcelona striker and Manchester City target Luis Suarez has revealed that if he returned to the Premier League, it would only be with former club Liverpool.

The Uruguay international bagged 61 goals in 83 appearances during his final two campaigns at Anfield and almost fired the Reds to the Premier League title in 2014, paving the way for a £75million move to the Nou Camp.

The 29-year-old has gone on to enjoy great success with the Catalans, netting 61 times in 77 appearances across all competitions and last season claiming a La Liga, Copa del Rey and Champions League treble.

Last weekend, reports revealed that Manchester City are hoping to sign the tenacious striker upon Pep Guardiola’s arrival next summer, viewing him as a perfect support act to star striker Sergio Aguero, in a deal they expect to cost in excess of £40million.

But according to The Daily Mail, Suarez has insisted during an interview with former team-mate Jamie Carragher that if he returned to the Premier League, it would only be with Liverpool.

He said; “I’d prefer to stay here for many more years. I know it doesn’t always turn out that way. But if I had to return to the Premier League, I would only go to Liverpool. I wouldn’t go to another team. It wouldn’t be a move for money.”
