According to reports from EuroSport, Manchester City have launched an enquiry into the availability of Liverpool target and Roma prospect Leandro Paredes.

The 21-year-old has impressed since signing for Empoli on loan at the start of the season, bagging two goals and one assist in 20 Serie A appearances whilst averaging 2.8 tackles, 1.6 interceptions, 1.2 created chances and 1.2 successful dribbles per match.

And it appears the attacking midfielder’s strong form has not gone unnoticed by the Premier League’s top clubs. Citing reports from TuttoMercatoWeb, The Express credited Liverpool with interest in Parades during the last few days of the January transfer window.

Likewise, Eurosport, who cite another Italian outlet in Gianluca Di Marzio’s website, claim that Manchester City have now launched an enquiry regarding the former Boca Juniors starlet.

However, it will require a considerable fee to convince Roma to sell Paredes. He’s rapidly emerged as one of the brightest prospects in Serie A and they’ve already made plans to blood him into their first team next season.
