According to reports from Kicker, summarised in English by ESPN, Barcelona and Real Madrid have joined the race to sign Liverpool and Manchester City target Leroy Sane.
Liverpool saw a €15million bid for the 19-year-old winger rejected by Schalke last summer and have been tipped to revive their interest this month following rumours of a follow-up offer in November.
But Sane’s impressive form since, muscling his way into the German national team with four goals and four assists in eleven Bundesliga starts, has seen a number of Europe’s top clubs rival the Reds’ interest in the one-cap international.

Indeed, Manchester City have been linked with a £40million-plus bid for the 6-foot attacker – which could make him the most expensive German footballer of all time – whilst Arsenal and Manchester United have also been mooted as potential suitors.
But the latest reports, courtesy of German publication Kicker, claim La Liga giants Barcelona and Real Madrid are now also a fixture in the race for Sane’s coveted signature.
It is furthermore claimed that despite Schalke’s reluctance to sell a prospect whose contract doesn’t expire until 2019, a bid around the €50million mark would likely convince them otherwise.
