Jamie Vardy

According to The Sun, Kieran Gibbs is likely to leave Arsenal if they sign Leicester City’s Ben Chilwell; whilst Mirror Football report that Chelsea want to sign Leicester City’s Jamie Vardy in a part-exchange deal.

Barring a seven-game loan spell at Norwich City, Gibbs has spent his entire career with Arsenal, originally emerging from their academy set-up at the start of the 2007/08 season.

But the England left-back has managed just two starts in the Premier League this season, finding himself stuck behind Nacho Monreal in the pecking order, and The Sun claim he could decide to leave the Emirates if the Gunners’ planned bid for fellow No.3 Ben Chilwell is accepted by Leicester City.

Despite his place in Roy Hodgson’s Euro 2016 squad being under threat, the 26-year-old is expected to stay on in north London until the end of the season – although Crystal Palace, Newcastle United and Swansea City are reportedly interested in striking up a deal this month.

Meanwhile, Mirror Football report that Chelsea could offer Loic Remy to Leicester City as part of a deal that would see Premier League top scorer Jamie Vardy move in the opposite direction.

The 29-year-old has bagged 16 goals and three assists in 23 appearances this season – setting a new record of netting in eleven consecutive Premier League fixtures in the process – and barring serious injury, is a shoo-in for Roy Hodgson’s England squad next summer.

Chelsea, Manchester City and Manchester United were all linked with the four-cap international earlier this month and Mirror Football claim the Blues are still keen on a deal – despite all-but-officially signing Brazilian frontman Alexandre Pato on a six-month loan.

Leicester City have no intention of selling the £30million-rated former non-league before the January transfer window slams shut as they eye a shock swoop for the Premier League title, but Chelsea could try to tempt them otherwise by offering Loic Remy in exchange.

The France international, who has started just one Premier League fixture this season, was reportedly subject to an £8million bid from the Midlands outfit earlier this week.
