He transformed the Saints from relegation battlers into top six contenders and since being appointed Spurs boss eighteen months ago, has forged a young, promising and industrious side that are now considered the dark horses in this season’s Premier League title race.

The Times claim the 43-year-old’s rapid rise has convinced the Chelsea hierarchy that he could be their ideal long-term successor to Jose Mourinho, who was axed in December to make way for Guus Hiddink’s second interim spell with the west Londoners.

Why do moronic so called reporters write stuff like this as if it’s a foregone conclusion that if Chelsea came calling, Pochettino would leave Spurs? He’s already said that the only clubs he’d leave Spurs for are Barca or RM. And why do they write these things as if Chelsea are a bigger club than Spurs? Before their Russian mafia owner turned up, they were a poorly supported mid table club.

This article hasn’t been written like a ‘foregone conclusion’. There is a massive difference between a club wanting to hire a manager, a manager wanting to be hired by another club and a club actually hiring a manager. This article deals with scenario one.
