According to Sky Sports, reports claiming Jose Mourinho has already agreed to replace Louis van Gaal as Manchester United boss have been denied by the former Chelsea manager’s representative, Jorge Mendes.
Van Gaal’s rule over Old Trafford has come under serious scrutiny in recent weeks amid a run of three straight defeats across all competitions, including elimination from the Champions League at the hands of Bundesliga outfit Wolfsburg.

Following his abrupt sacking as Chelsea manager last Thursday, reports from earlier this week suggested Jose Mourinho has already ‘agreed in principle‘ to replace the struggling Dutchman – if the Red Devils record a fourth consecutive defeat against Stoke City on Boxing Day.
But super agent Jorge Mendes, whose other clients include Cristiano Ronaldo, Angel Di Maria and James Rodriguez to name a few, has insisted that no such agreement is currently in place.
As quoted by Sky Sports, Mourinho’s representative told Brazilian outlet Globoesporte “There is nothing. We don’t know what will happen in the future, but now there is no agreement. There isn’t an official proposal either, that’s not true.”
