According to reports from Mirror Football, Arsenal forward Alexis Sanchez has instructed Arsene Wenger to sign former Manchester United star Javier Hernandez in January.

The Mexico international netted 59 goals in 157 appearances during his four full campaigns at Old Trafford – reaching double figures in the Premier League for three consecutive seasons.

But he was loaned to Real Madrid during Louis van Gaal’s first transfer window as United boss and sold to Bayer Leverkusen a year later in a £7.3million deal.

The 27-year-old has flourished moving to the Bay Arena last summer, bagging eleven goals in the Bundesliga – winning the division’s Player of the Month award for November in the process – alongside five strikes in the Champions League’s Group Stages.

Reports earlier this month alleged a shock return to the Premier League in January with United’s divisional rivals Arsenal and citing Spanish publication Don Balon, Mirror Football now claim Alexis Sanchez has told Arsene Wenger that Chicarito would be the perfect January addition to the Gunners’ forward line.

Strike-force Olivier Giroud and Theo Walcott have netted a combined 13 times in the Premier League this season, but further firepower would certainly enhance the north London club’s title bid.
