10. Romelu Lukaku

According to reports from The Daily Star, Manchester United will move for two Everton players during the January transfer window – defender John Stones and striker Romelu Lukaku.

The Red Devils made their interest in England international known during the summer but refrained from entering a bidding war with rival suitors Chelsea – who saw a succession of offers, the last and most lucrative believed to be worth £38million, rejected by the Goodison outfit.

But the Old Trafford side have been linked again in recent weeks and citing Italian outlet ItaSportPress, The Daily Star claim the 21-year-old could become part of a United double-raid on the Toffees next month.

They’re also keen on star striker Romelu Lukaku, whose twelve goals in 16 appearances this season is only surpassed throughout the Premier League by Leicester City record-breaker Jamie Vardy.

United are desperately short on firepower, scoring the second-fewest goals of any side in the top half this season after Watford, and the Belgium international certainly fits the bill, having already netted 54 Premier League goals at just 22 years of age.

Prior reports have suggested the Red Devils could shell out as much as £50million to sign Lukaku and it would certainly require a sum close to that figure to convince Everton to sell midseason. The Merseysiders demonstrated their resilience to sizeable bids during the summer and are desperate to keep their prodigious starting Xi intact.
