According to reports from The Daily Mail this afternoon, Manchester United have joined the race to sign Leicester City star Riyad Mahrez in January.
The Algeria international has been enjoying scintillating form this season, bagging seven strikes and five set-ups in ten appearances to rise to second in the Premier League’s goals and assists charts – whilst his 3.6 successful dribbles per match is a division highest.
The 24 year-old’s miraculous improvement since the Foxes’ top flight ascension in summer 2014 hasn’t gone unnoticed. Back in September, he was linked with January moves to Arsenal and Barcelona – two sides who’d certainly suit the skillful winger.
But according to The Daily Mail, Manchester United represent fresh competition in the race for Mahrez’ signature. They had scouts present as the former Le Harve man recorded a brace against West Bromwich Albion on Saturday, whilst reports from France claim the Red Devils have already ‘made initial contact’ with his representatives.
By no great coincidence, the reports follow a 325 minute spell without a goal for the Red Devils, incurring scoreless draws at the hands of Manchester City, Middlesbrough, and Crystal Palace.
It is all speculation. I have learnt not to believe any of these rumours until the end of any transfer window.
Won’t happen as Leicester don’t need to sell
Everyone’s got a price
This doesnt seem believable.there are big time attackers united can get in Europe.
