Alexandre Pato

According to reports from The Daily Star and The Daily Mail, West Ham are considering a deal to bring former AC Milan star Pato to the Premier League.

The 5 foot 11 front-man first broke onto the scene in 2007 as Rossoneri’s free-scoring teenager, bagging 51 goals in 117 Serie A appearances for the Italian giants, but left the San Siro in 2012 following 18 months of recurring injury problems.

The 26 year-old has gone someway to resurrecting his career during an 18 month loan spell with Sao Paulo, who pay half of his £68k per-week wages along with parent club Corinthians, producing 37 goals in 94 outings across all competitions.

During the final week of the summer transfer window, the Brazil international was surprisingly linked with Chelsea and Manchester United, whilst The Daily Star claim he’s also been targeted by Arsenal and Tottenham Hotspur in the past.

But according to The Daily Mail, it’s now West Ham who are considering a deal for Pato, viewing him as a star-studded name who will add firepower to their squad.

Corinthians have already expressed a desire to sell the 27-cap international, with deputy director of football Eduardo Ferreira telling Brazilian publication Globo Esporte earlier this month; “At the moment there are only enquiries. But if a club comes in with an offer of €25m (18.5m), we will let him go, otherwise he will return in January.”

It is unknown whether the Hammers are prepared to meet that valuation or wish to negotiate a lower price.
