According to reports from The Express yesterday evening, Inter Milan loanee Martin Montoya will ‘snub Arsenal and Liverpool again when the transfer window reopens’ in January.

The Barcelona right-back gained global notoriety for his stunning strike against Malaga in 2013 but after falling down the Nou Camp pecking order was allowed to leave on loan during the summer.

Arsenal and Liverpool are both long-term admirers of the 24 year-old and were heavily linked with his signature before he moved to the San Siro in July on a two-year loan with the option of signing for Nerazzurri permanently.

Spanish news outlet Sport claim Inter already want to send Montoya back to the Nou Camp, having failed to register an appearance in any competition thus far.

But quoting Montoya’s agent, The Express report that the former Spain U21, who won three La Liga titles and the 2015 Champions League title with Barcelona, has no intention of returning to his parent club in January – or for that matter, joining Premier League suitors Arsenal or Liverpool.

“Martin will stay at Inter for many years,” agent Juan de Dios Carrasco told Tele Lombardia. “He came to the Nerazzurri on a two-year loan with the option to buy in Inter’s favour, and I’m sure he’ll be an Inter player for many years to come. It’s only been six games. His time will come.”
